What's not included . . . and why:
- Montana Fishing License: must have to fish in Montana. Two-day (there is no one-day) is $22; 10-day is $52.
- Alcoholic beverages. It is simply BYOB.
- Guide gratuities: all of our guides will work very hard for you. Tips are not expected, but always appreciated. Only give what you feel is appropriate, but a good range is $50 to $200 per day based on your own personal feelings.
- Private water/private ranch access fees: in a few cases, we will fish water that has limited access. You will be given advance notice and we will discuss the fee before venturing out. Fees range from $50 to $150 per person per day.
Making a Reservation
Advanced reservations are strongly suggested, as our core group of flyfishing guides is booked well in advance. As soon as you know your fly fishing trip dates we encourage you to make a reservation so you can have first choice of guides, locations and lodging. At the time of your reservation please let Montana Fishing Outfitters know of any heath concerns or dietary restrictions we should be aware of for you comfort and safety.
Deposit and Final Payment
Payment made with cash or check requires a deposit of $100.00 per day per guide booked and must be received no later than 10 days from the time of reserving your date(s). Final payment is due no later than the final day of the trip.
Payment made with credit cards through our online booking system requires a deposit of 50% of the total trip cost. Final payment will be collected one week before the trip occurs.
Receipt of a deposit constitutes your agreement to our deposit and payment terms.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Your deposit will be refunded in whole if you give Montana Fishing Outfitters 30 days or more notice of intent to cancel. Within 30 days, if the guide assigned cannot be re-booked for the day of cancellation, your $100.00/day/guide deposit will be forwarded to the guide in lieu of that lost revenue.
Weather cancellations can occur due to sudden weather changes. A rainy or snowy day may not be the weather you had hoped for. Remember, however, that some of our best days of fishing may occur on days that are overcast and raining or snowing. On days like this, it is entirely up to you and your guide whether or not to fish. In most instances, the weather changes or the fishing is still good, so discretion is important. We will gladly reschedule you during your stay, if possible, or completely refund your deposit.
